Shafali Verma, the star of the Women’s cricket team of India serves the nation by being a right-handed batter. She has indeed created history in 2019 when she participated in India’s Women Twenty20 match for the internationals, all this happening at the age of 15 years in her life. She competed in the Women’s T20 contest for Velocity before turning pro, scoring 34 runs in just 31 balls. She was picked for India’s Women Twenty20 Internationals for the exciting series against the country South Africa in September 2019. At the age of fifteen, she marked her World Twenty20 debut on September 24 against South Africa. In the year 2019 against West Indies, she stood as India’s newest half-century player in international cricket, becoming the youngest player to represent India in a T20I match. Also, she was nominated player of the whole series.
She acquired a central contract with the BCCI foundation in January 2020 after being named to India’s selection for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup (2020) in Australia. She was regarded as the top batter in women’s cricket-T20I before the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020. She was included in the teams for both the WODI and Test matches & played against the England women’s team in May 2021. On June 16, 2021, Verma played in the first Test match for India against England and scored 96 runs.
